Project Overview
The Problem
NSO had previously used a logo to brand their website, social media, attire, and more. With their updated name, they had no mark that matched their new identity.
The Goal
The goal of this project was to create a new logo that reflects NSO’s previous identity, expresses their larger reach, and establishes a mark that will last for years to come.
Going Forward
Takeaways
I spent the most time reflecting on the process and the presentation of designs. I worked with a single point of contact who then took the concepts and designs to board meetings to present themselves, using notes from our calls together. This resulted in long waits for feedback and back-and-forth communication because I was not directly involved in those presentations.
The drawn out and inefficient feedback process led me to recognize the importance of presentation to sell ideas and designs. This applies to both the layout of the presentation and the delivery: it needs to be clear and relatable. I learned that I need to present myself to the appropriate shareholders in a way that they can easily understand.
Next Steps
Moving forward, I’d like to work to develop further assets and applications for the NSO brand and logo. A logo is something that lives in an active environment and develops its identity through repetition and recognition. Given the opportunity, I would develop a PowerPoint template for presentations, recruiting materials, designs for gear and attire, and more.
